I would like to apply. I'm new here (not new to NationStates though). I found a recruitment thread for this region on the NS forums, and would like to get involved. Desired lot: 30 Nation: United Kingdom of Lannister and Beaufort Capital: Shiloh (at the mouth of the river running through the lot) Other Major Cities: Cape Suzette, Omred, and Cinnigrad River: Bartholomew River, Plantagenet River (river separating lot 30 and lot 43) Lake: Lake St. George (at the head of the Bartholomew River), Great Lake (lake between lots 30, 31, and 43) Highest Point: Mount Unity (Unification Mountain Range). Nation Link: HereLannister and Beaufort were once two separate kingdoms seperated by a mountain range and were often at war. Six hundred and fifty years ago, King Silas of Lannister arranged the marriage of his son Prince Bartholomew and Princess Suzette of Beaufort. It led to increasing friendship and peace between the two kingdoms. Several decades later, the King Henry of Beaufort (older brother of Princess Suzette) died young. There was no official royal heir, and the impending succession crisis threatened to tear the kingdom apart. Now King of Lannister, Bartholomew merged the two kingdoms into one. The mountains that used to seperate the two nations were renamed the Unification Mountains to signify the new-found unity between Lannister and Beaufort. Though the last 6 centuries have been relatively peaceful, there are still separatist groups that want Beaufort to be its own nation once again.

Desired Lot: 29
Nation: Federal Republic of Sword and Shield
Capital: Delphi (Eastern edge of Lake Corusca, Northern edge of the Illyrian River)
Lakes: Lake Corusca (Body of Water in the center), Aegean Bay (Terminus of the river between Lake Corusca and the Sea), Inner Sea (Large body of water at the terminus of the southern river)
Rivers: Illyrian River (Central river), Seine River (Southern river that flows into the border)
Other Major Cities: Corinth (Port at the Southern edge of terminus of Seine River into the sea), Syracuse (Port at the Southern terminus of Illyrian River into the sea), Orleans (Farthest south of the Seine River, just before the border, only pass through the Julians with modern infrastructure), Pelargir (Farthest West point on the peninsula), Umbar (Northernmost point of the peninsula)
Mountains: Julian Range (Southern Border), Augustan Range (North eastern area of peninsula)
Highest point: Mount Trajan (15,000 ft), Mid-eastern point of the Julian Range
The Federal Republic is divided into several regions by the geography of the peninsula. To the south, the Julian Range has both shielded and at times isolated the peninsula from the central areas of the continent. There are few passes through the range, the only modern ones centered around Orleans and the Seine river which flows through and from it's peaks. This has led to the development of a strong maritime culture in the central plains between Lake Corusca and the Inner Sea, which contains the richest areas of the population, industry, and agriculture. To the northwest are vast plains that extend to the sea, with Pelargir as the chief city of the region thriving due to trade with the western countries beyond the sea. To the north are the frozen tundra at the foot of the Augustan Range, almost entirely devoid of human presence. The only major settlement in this region is the port of Umbar, which exists almost entirely to support drilling operations in the northern seas and mineral extraction from the Augustan Range.
