To Defend or Not to Defend: Nations Debate Merits of Defending, Invading
Discussion Spans Multiple Days on Forums
The nations of Dux Milan have been debating whether the region will align itself with Defender or Raider regions in the coming Board of Selectmen Meeting. From reports the DMRN has received, all those in attendance clearly lean towards Defending, with a further consensus being more time and member nations are needed before final determinations are made.
Regional founder Bradford John posited the following question to the members of Dux Milan on 19 December 2013: "What does our region stand for in this world? How do you feel Dux Milan could best promote its values? Should we align ourselves with defenders? Raiders? Or should we remain neutral?"
John said he had "toyed" with the dilemma, but he went on to assure Dux Milan any foreign policy decision will be made by the Board of Selectmen on 15 January 2014.
Most of those present, including Point Breeze, Austrur, Gaed, and The Church of Satan, an ally from the Land Mass region, agreed that more time is needed before any sound decision can be made, with many citing the low population and lack of military power the region is currently experiencing. Point Breeze and Austrur particularly lamented the lack of organized Defender initiatives to challenge the strong, military hierarchy of The Black Riders and other established Raider groups.
In order to address the issues presented at this debate, John initiated a recruitment drive to take place over the weekend in the hopes of boosting the region's population and securing more endorsements for the regional delegate.
Information on how to support the region and participate in the recruitment drive can be found here.
